Job Summary

The Planning Engineer will develop and monitor project schedules for high-rise, residential, and commercial developments within an engineering consultancy and real estate development company. The role involves tracking progress and analyzing schedule variances to ensure projects are delivered according to approved plans.

Responsibilities

• Create, review, and update master and detailed project schedules to reflect actual progress.
• Evaluate contractors’ schedules for activity logic, sequencing, and compliance with project needs.
• Oversee milestones related to design, permitting, tendering, procurement, construction, and handover, ensuring schedule dependencies are coordinated.
• Analyze critical paths and schedule deviations, identify delays, and suggest corrective and recovery measures.
• Compare actual progress against planned targets and produce regular progress reports and performance dashboards.
• Coordinate resource plans and long-lead procurement schedules with project teams, consultants, and contractors.
• Evaluate scheduling impacts of changes and assist with delay analysis and extension-of-time requests per contract terms.
• Prepare management reports detailing schedule status, constraints, and recommendations to aid decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• At least 15 years of experience in project planning and scheduling for high-rise, residential, and commercial projects.
• Experience in engineering consultancy or real estate development with knowledge of coordination among clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel for scheduling, data analysis, and reporting.
• Advanced skills in critical path analysis, progress measurement, delay analysis, and recovery planning.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and contract documents to develop coordinated schedules.
• Strong analytical, reporting, communication, and stakeholder coordination abilities.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or PMI-SP are advantageous.
