Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Cloud Operations supports daily management, reliability, governance, security, and optimization of Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform environments. The role collaborates with various teams and vendors to maintain stable, secure, and cost-effective cloud services aligned with business needs.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily cloud operations on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure health, performance, capacity, and incident management.
- Support Site Reliability Engineering practices including monitoring, incident response, and automation.
- Handle incident response, service requests, escalations, and root cause analysis for cloud services.
- Implement and maintain cloud governance, policies, standards, tagging, and compliance.
- Optimize cloud costs, usage, reserved capacity, rightsizing, and resource cleanup.
- Coordinate with vendors, managed service providers, and internal teams to resolve operational issues.
- Maintain cloud documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and knowledge base articles.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud operations, cloud engineering, infrastructure operations, or related roles.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of cloud networking, identity, compute, storage, monitoring, backup, security, and high availability.
- Experience with incident, problem, change, and service request management.
- Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering concepts such as availability, reliability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and IT service management tools.
- Good understanding of cloud security including IAM, RBAC, network security groups/firewalls, encryption, vulnerability management, and compliance controls.
- Ability to collaborate with vendors, managed service providers, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Preferred experience with automation or scripting tools such as Terraform, PowerShell, or Python.
