Software Engineering Expert

Job Summary

This role involves defining and maintaining software architecture principles, leading technical teams, managing system integrations, overseeing vendor relations, and ensuring successful software releases and governance.

Responsibilities

• Define and uphold software architecture standards and design scalable, secure software solutions.
• Lead and mentor software engineering teams, supporting technical problem-solving and governance.
• Design and manage integrations between internal and external systems, ensuring reliability and security.
• Oversee vendor technical proposals, performance, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Participate in release planning, coordinating with multiple teams to ensure readiness and quality.
• Establish and enforce software engineering standards, documentation, and technical governance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions and roadmaps.
• Manage technical risks, dependencies, and promote modern engineering practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, or related roles.
• Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale software platforms.
• Technical leadership experience with engineering teams and complex initiatives.
• Expertise in software architecture, system design, APIs, integrations, distributed systems, and Agile delivery.
• Experience with external vendors, SDLC, release management, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Strong knowledge of application security, scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Competencies in microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, cloud, Kubernetes, monitoring, and automated testing.
• Leadership skills including mentoring, strategic thinking, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
• Preferred experience includes leading multiple products or teams, working with large-scale or government platforms, cybersecurity, vendor management, cloud-native platforms, and application modernization.
