Job Summary

The Senior Design Engineer at Hitachi Energy leads the design and development of complex engineering solutions, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and cost objectives while driving innovation and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire design engineering project lifecycle from concept to production support.
• Create and improve detailed engineering specifications, drawings, and documentation using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CATIA.
• Perform advanced engineering analyses including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to validate and optimize designs.
• Work collaboratively with R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers to promote continuous learning.
• Explore and assess new technologies, materials, and manufacturing methods to improve product performance and efficiency.
• Conduct root cause analysis of design issues and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure compliance of designs with industry standards, regulations, and company quality procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in design engineering, preferably in automotive, industrial, electronics, or power systems industries.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, and PDM/PLM systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in complex engineering analyses.
• Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in project leadership or mentoring junior engineers is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulatory compliance.
