Job Summary

The Field Service Engineer at ABB in Amman, Jordan, is responsible for executing service tasks of low to medium complexity on MV/LV switchgear and related equipment, following ABB standards and safety guidelines. The role involves planning and performing work onsite with a focus on first-time right execution and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of MV/LV switchgear.
• Work hands-on with ABB products such as ZS1, ZS2, GIS, ZX1.2, circuit breakers, and protection relays.
• Manage switchgear expansion, modification, upgrade, and retrofit activities.
• Apply knowledge of ABB protection relays and testing techniques including secondary injection and primary control circuits.
• Maintain high awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards and comply with ABB safety and quality requirements.
• Support the Project Manager in planning and coordinating site activities and project execution.
• Resolve technical and site issues and coordinate with engineering teams as needed.
• Prepare and manage test reports and technical documentation, and provide customer technical support and training when required.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Electrical engineering background with strong hands-on field experience in MV/LV switchgear, protection systems, testing, commissioning, retrofit, and service projects.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites and travel as required.
• Strong communication skills.
