Job Summary

The Senior Engineer – Building Technology Systems (BMS) at WSP in Riyadh is responsible for supporting the design and delivery of Building Management Systems and smart building solutions across diverse building projects. The role involves technical expertise in building automation, controls, monitoring, and system integration throughout design, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.

Responsibilities

• Develop BMS designs for various building types including commercial, healthcare, hospitality, aviation, residential, and mixed-use projects.
• Prepare design calculations, system architecture diagrams, control schematics, points schedules, sequences of operation, technical specifications, and design reports.
• Coordinate BMS designs with mechanical, electrical, ELV, ICT, security, lighting control, and energy management systems.
• Support production and review of drawings, BIM models, and technical documentation to ensure project compliance.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical proposals for design compliance.
• Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings and assist in resolving technical and integration issues.
• Provide technical input during design development, tender, and construction stages and respond to RFIs and design changes.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to verify installation quality and support testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and handover activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related field.
• 8-12 years of experience in Building Management Systems, Building Automation, or Smart Buildings engineering.
• Proven experience delivering BMS designs for complex building projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, monitoring systems, and integrated building technologies.
• Experience with major BMS platforms such as Siemens Desigo, Schneider EcoStruxure, Honeywell EBI, Johnson Controls Metasys, Delta Controls, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with UAE, KSA, and international building codes, standards, and design practices.
• Experience supporting testing, commissioning, and handover of building systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Professional certifications related to BMS, controls, or smart buildings are advantageous.
