Lead Experience Designer

Job Summary

The Lead Experience Designer will lead the design and delivery of AI-powered products and experiences within multidisciplinary teams in Riyadh. This role involves hands-on design, strategic client advisory, and building local design capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead experience design throughout all project phases, including workshops, user journey mapping, concept visualization, and prototyping.
• Design AI-native user experiences focusing on conversational, multi-modal, and autonomous agent flows with principles of trust and transparency.
• Utilize AI tools like Figma, UX Pilot, Bolt, Murai, Maze, and LLM research tools to speed up ideation and research.
• Conduct lean user research and testing aligned with rapid sprint cycles, emphasizing accessibility and inclusive design.
• Develop and maintain design systems and component libraries in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Provide consultative leadership to client executives, shaping AI-native product experiences and supporting pre-sales activities.
• Contribute to building local Experience Design capabilities, influencing team culture, and establishing client relationships in the Middle East.

Requirements

• Over 8 years of product design experience with a portfolio showing strong visual design, UX reasoning, and end-to-end product ownership.
• Proven leadership on large-scale programs, product launches, and engagement with senior stakeholders.
• Expertise in user research, journey mapping, wireframing, and rapid prototyping using lean validation methods.
• Fluency in designing AI and data-driven products and using AI-enabled design tools.
• Experience applying human-centered design and innovation in rapidly transforming economic or digital environments.
• Strong knowledge of accessibility, inclusive design, and responsive/adaptive design.
• Experience or experimentation with conversational interfaces such as AI chat, task-oriented assistants, voice, or multi-modal experiences.
• Experience in KSA or Middle East design or developing products for Riyadh/Middle East markets.
• Ability to build relationships with executive stakeholders and lead discussions at the intersection of design, technology, and business.
• Experience in consultative selling, client leadership, and building trusted-advisor relationships.
• Strong workshop facilitation skills for client alignment and momentum.
• Clear communication of design rationale to technical and executive audiences.
• Passion for building the local design community and representing Thoughtworks’ design practice in the Middle East.
• Collaborative mindset working with multidisciplinary teams of local and global experts.
• Curious and open to challenging established practices and contributing to early-stage regional growth.
