Mining Engineer

Job Summary

The Mining Engineer at Pronto leads on-site deployments, connecting advanced autonomous vehicle technology with daily mining operations. This role involves managing technical teams, ensuring infrastructure commitments, and meeting performance and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects meeting agreed performance metrics and integrate autonomous systems into mining production cycles.
• Lead the local field team managing permitting, scheduling, safety compliance, and work performance.
• Ensure customer accountability for resources, machine availability, and site readiness.
• Serve as the main communication link between the customer site and Pronto headquarters, reporting progress and escalating issues.
• Collaborate with customers to establish or adjust operational processes for autonomous haulage.
• Lead customer training on Pronto technology and manage system handover to mine operations teams.

Requirements

• 15+ years of direct mining experience with strong knowledge of mine site production and safety.
• 5–10 years in leadership roles such as Site Superintendent, Maintenance Manager, or Fleet Manager.
• Experience participating in technology rollouts including autonomy, remote operations, telematics, or machine control systems.
• University Degree in Mining Engineering.
• Ability to command respect on-site and influence customer decisions for site readiness.
• Understanding of transitioning mines from manual to autonomous operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for executive-level reporting.
• Willingness to work on-site with mining rotation schedules and travel up to 75% across the Middle East.
• Capability to work in rugged mine environments and comply with health and safety requirements.
