Job Summary
The Senior Flutter Developer will be responsible for developing customer-facing ordering applications used by numerous restaurants. This role involves managing a white-label Flutter codebase that supports multiple brands and devices, ensuring end-to-end feature ownership from design to release and iteration.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver features within a large Flutter codebase actively used by customers.
- Make architectural decisions regarding state management, modularization, and data layers.
- Collaborate with backend engineers on API design and with product and design teams on feature prioritization.
- Maintain high code quality through reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD processes.
- Monitor post-release metrics such as crash rates, performance, and user engagement to inform improvements.
- Manage complex app components including payments, deep links, push notifications, offline functionality, and app store releases.
- Mentor mid-level engineers and enhance the team’s engineering standards.
Must haves
- Over 5 years of experience in mobile app development, with at least 3 years focused on Flutter/Dart in production.
- Deep understanding of Flutter internals including widget lifecycle, rendering, and performance diagnostics.
- Experience with structured architectures like Clean Architecture and state management approaches such as BLoC, Riverpod, or Provider.
- Familiarity with dependency injection, repository patterns, and writing testable code.
- Strong testing practices including unit, widget, and integration tests.
- Experience integrating native platform features via platform channels and native SDKs, including iOS and Android build configurations.
- Proven track record of shipping apps to the App Store and Play Store with knowledge of common issues.
- Good English communication skills, including written documentation.
Nice to haves
- Experience with multi-tenant or white-label app delivery including flavors and dynamic theming.
- Expertise in performance optimization for low-end Android devices and offline-first app design.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, Sentry, Firebase, or analytics platforms like Mixpanel.
- Previous work experience in food tech, e-commerce, or other high-volume consumer products.
