Job Summary
The Principal Backend Engineer will lead backend development efforts, owning technical projects from analysis to production deployment independently.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend services.
- Conduct technical analysis and design solutions.
- Manage features end-to-end from development to production support.
- Integrate and maintain third-party systems.
- Perform code reviews and uphold engineering quality.
- Investigate and resolve production issues with root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, and engineering teams.
- Monitor and improve application performance, reliability, and scalability.
Requirements
- More than 6 years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, AWS, REST and SOAP APIs.
- Experience in production monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Codex, Claude Code, or similar.
- Ability to use AI tools effectively for coding, analysis, debugging, testing, and enhancing productivity.
- Strong problem-solving skills and high ownership.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high engineering standards.
