Software Development Engineer – iOS

Job Summary

The Software Development Engineer – iOS at Majid Al Futtaim in Amman, Jordan, is responsible for developing and maintaining iOS applications as part of a feature team, reporting to the Software Development Team Lead iOS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain high-quality, efficient iOS applications integrated with backend services.
• Produce clean, reusable, and maintainable code adhering to SOLID principles and design patterns.
• Convert designs and wireframes into responsive iOS applications using suitable architectures and usability practices.
• Detect and fix performance issues, bugs, crashes to ensure application stability.
• Collaborate with engineers, developers, QA, and stakeholders, participating in design reviews and Agile workflows.
• Support functional testing and maintain clear documentation for features and components.
• Implement best development practices and suggest improvements in processes, automation, and code quality.
• Achieve deadlines and quality goals while enhancing delivery speed, problem-solving, code quality, crash rates, and maintainability.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in iOS development, including knowledge of multiple iOS versions, screen sizes, UI principles, Apple Human Interface Guidelines, and touch interfaces.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, offline storage, threading, push notifications, cloud messaging, and the iOS/open-source ecosystem.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, performance tuning, benchmarking, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Git, continuous integration, code quality standards, acceptance criteria, and timely feature delivery.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions, drive impact, foster innovation, and contribute effectively to teams.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
