Senior Infrastructure Operations Administrator

Job Summary

This role involves managing and administering various operating systems and infrastructure components, ensuring high availability and smooth operation of IT services.

Responsibilities

• Administer operating systems including Redhat, Centos, Ubuntu, Solaris, and Microsoft Windows.
• Manage VMware virtualization, high availability, containerization, and backup services.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records for storage and backup infrastructure and assist in building these systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production environment issues.
• Deploy new clients to existing infrastructure and ensure consistent service availability.
• Perform proactive and preventive system upgrades to avoid failures.
• Support DevOps tools infrastructure including Dockers, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Ansible.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MIS.
• At least 3 years of continuous professional technical experience in IT with relevant certifications and training.
• Strong knowledge of hardware including Oracle/SUN, IBM, EMC, DELL, and HP.
• Solid understanding of OS management, Linux flavors, and Solaris technologies.
• RedHat Certification is mandatory.
• Shell scripting experience is mandatory.
• Fundamental knowledge of networking principles such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, and VPN.
• Experience with automation scripting languages like Perl, Shell, Ansible, and expertise in using Redhat Satellite for automation.
• Basic understanding of virtualization and containerization technologies.
• Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of large corporate applications and integrated end-to-end IT infrastructure services including Data Centre Sites, Backup/Recovery, Monitoring, and Scheduling tools.
• Experience in Project Management.
