Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior DevOps Engineer at Gaia is responsible for designing and operating cloud-agnostic infrastructure that supports deployment across multiple cloud providers and on-premises environments. This role involves building secure, portable, automated, and production-ready infrastructure to enable Gaia’s enterprise AI platform deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage infrastructure architectures that work across AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, and on-premises setups.
• Create repeatable deployment patterns for Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) and on-premises enterprise customers.
• Manage Kubernetes infrastructure on both managed services and self-hosted environments.
• Develop reusable Infrastructure-as-Code and automation for consistent provisioning across providers.
• Design deployment abstractions to reduce provider-specific dependencies and enhance portability.
• Oversee multiple environments including production, staging, development, sandbox, and customer-specific setups.
• Build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps workflows.
• Operate and optimize self-hosted infrastructure components such as databases, caching, search/vector infrastructure, and observability tools.

Must haves

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Solid Linux and networking fundamentals.
• Experience designing CI/CD and GitOps workflows.
• Experience operating production workloads on at least two major cloud providers.

Nice to haves

• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or OCI.
• Familiarity with Argo CD, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki, PostgreSQL, Redis/Valkey, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, and HashiCorp Vault.
• Experience with air-gapped or restricted-network deployments and private registries.
• Knowledge of high-availability infrastructure, backup and disaster recovery, enterprise SSO, and security frameworks.
