Remote Full Stack Engineer

Job Summary

This role involves developing full stack features using React for frontend and Django for backend in a remote, product-focused startup environment. The engineer will handle the entire process from data modeling to frontend implementation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver complete features spanning React frontend and Django backend.
• Create responsive web applications using React and Material UI (MUI).
• Design backend APIs and services with Python and Django.
• Build clean, responsive user interfaces integrated with backend services.
• Implement AI-driven and algorithmic logic such as scoring and ranking systems.
• Design data models and application logic for new features.
• Write production-ready, pragmatic code for rapid shipping and iteration.
• Collaborate closely with the team to take features from concept to production.

Must haves

• Strong proficiency in React.
• Strong experience with Python and Django.
• Experience with Material UI (MUI).
• Ability to design and build REST APIs.
• Experience with complex business logic, algorithms, or decision systems.
• Attention to detail in UI alignment, spacing, responsiveness, and product experience.
• Understanding of application performance, database queries, caching, and bottlenecks.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to haves

• Experience with Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Familiarity with AI development tools like Claude Code or Cursor.
• Experience delivering complete products via startups, personal projects, or hackathons.
• Background in algorithms or data-intensive systems.
• Experience with GCP, Redis, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience building mobile apps with React Native.
