Chief Specialist, Accelerating asset ramp-up

Job Summary

The Chief Specialist – Acceleration Asset Ramp-up role supports Ma’aden in accelerating the transition of mining and processing assets to stable and productive operations by integrating technology, operational expertise, and data analytics to overcome commissioning and early performance challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a company-wide approach to shorten the commissioning to stable operation timeline for mining and processing assets.
• Identify key factors affecting throughput, recovery, uptime, cost, and readiness to enhance early asset performance.
• Analyze systemic ramp-up issues and facilitate targeted interventions to resolve root causes and safeguard production value.
• Convert ramp-up opportunities into measurable value propositions, set performance goals, and assign clear ownership with benefit tracking.
• Promote continuous improvement in ramp-up speed, asset utilization, and operational readiness through data-driven performance management.
• Provide leadership with actionable insights to prioritize interventions and investments for maximum operational value.
• Accelerate the use of advanced analytics, digital twins, and predictive tools to improve commissioning, stabilization, and ramp-up decisions.
• Establish governance, performance metrics, and executive visibility for ramp-up initiatives, coordinating across multiple stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mining, Metallurgy, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is advantageous.
• 12–15+ years of experience in mining, mineral processing, or similar heavy industry sectors.
• Extensive experience with asset commissioning, operational ramp-up, stabilization, and performance improvement.
• Proven track record of delivering operational value through digital, analytics, or technology-driven initiatives.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary operational, technical, project, and technology teams.
• Skills in asset ramp-up and commissioning optimization, operational excellence, bottleneck analysis, advanced analytics, value realization, performance management, strategic problem-solving, cross-functional execution, senior stakeholder influence, and change management.
