Application Specialist

Job Summary

The Student Information System Application Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation, configuration, optimization, and maintenance of the university’s student information system (SIS) and learning management system (LMS), focusing on admissions, registration, billing, and academic workflows. The role acts as a liaison between academic and administrative departments and system vendors to ensure effective deployment and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in implementing SIS, LMS, Exam, and Library Management systems.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative units to collect and document system requirements.
• Validate system configurations against approved requirements and participate in workflow analysis.
• Coordinate with vendors, project teams, and university departments throughout implementation phases.
• Support system testing, including user acceptance testing and integration with other university systems.
• Assist with data setup, migration, and validation activities related to academic programs and fee structures.
• Develop training materials and conduct end-user training sessions.
• Provide second-line application support, troubleshoot issues, manage incidents, and monitor system performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Informatics, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience implementing and supporting Student Information Systems in higher education.
• Hands-on experience with SIS and LMS systems.
• Experience with end-to-end implementation and go-live processes.
• Understanding of higher education workflows and SIS/LMS integration standards such as APIs, LTI, and SSO.
• Experience in system testing, change management, and end-user training.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
• ITIL Foundation or relevant SIS/LMS vendor certification is a plus.
