Job Summary

The Software Developer, Digital role at Hatch involves leading a small team in developing innovative digital products by leveraging AI-assisted workflows and full-stack development skills to support clients’ digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for a small team including developers and data engineers across multiple client engagements.
• Mentor team members, conduct code reviews, and guide architectural decisions to ensure high-quality product delivery.
• Manage end-to-end delivery of projects from requirements clarification to deployment.
• Utilize AI-assisted development techniques such as prompt design and multi-file refactoring as integral to daily work.
• Work effectively within Agile teams and independently on smaller projects.
• Participate in sprint planning, software development lifecycle activities, testing, and documentation.
• Contribute to design and architecture decisions for both front-end and back-end systems.
• Communicate risks, open issues, and trade-offs to stakeholders and stay updated on relevant technology and AI tools.

Must haves

• At least 6 years of experience in development with expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies.
• Proven experience mentoring developers and acting as a technical reference for a small team.
• Strong knowledge of C#/.NET (current LTS) and ASP.NET services.
• Experience building APIs using GraphQL.
• Proficiency with React (TypeScript).
• Experience with MongoDB, including MongoDB Atlas deployments.
• Regular use of Azure DevOps and GitHub for source control and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with design patterns and clean architecture principles.
• Demonstrated use of AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code as a core part of development workflows.
• Strong communication skills with stakeholders at various levels globally.
• Experience working with Agile and Kanban methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience.

Nice to haves

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services such as Storage Accounts, B2C, Key Vault, API Services, and Functions.
• Experience designing end-to-end solutions or products.
• Experience collaborating with data engineers and cross-disciplinary teams.
• Experience evaluating new frameworks and technologies and recommending adoption.
• Knowledge of software quality assurance methods and technologies.
• Ability to build consensus across teams.
