Job Summary

The Network Engineering Support role involves managing and maintaining complex LAN/WAN networks, including installation, troubleshooting, and support of network hardware and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain LAN/WAN communications and network hardware such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, and firewalls.
• Apply knowledge of routing protocols including RIP, EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF.
• Work with technologies like MPLS, VPLS, MLA VPNs, and perform traffic engineering duties.
• Handle management of local and wide area networks, projects, installation of new devices, and ongoing infrastructure maintenance.
• Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve network outages.
• Submit accurate and timely updates on projects and system tests.
• Support networks including SIPR, NIPR, CENTRIXS, BICES, CPOF, CENTCOM Partner Networks, and Wireless LAN.
• Administer advanced multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices, and network management systems.

Requirements

• Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret Clearance.
• US Citizenship is required due to contract requirements.
• Meet DoD 8140 qualification requirements for Network Operations Specialist (Basic) work role 441.
• Possess qualifying 8140 certifications such as A+, Network+, or other DoD 8140-approved certifications.
• Minimum six (6) years of experience with complex LAN/WAN communications and network hardware.
• In-depth knowledge of routing protocols RIP, EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF.
• Experience with MPLS, VPLS, MLA VPNs, and traffic engineering.
• Experience with Wireless and Riverbeds technologies.
• Well versed in advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices, and network management systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science preferred, or 6-8 years of military experience with advanced commercial certification instead of education.
