Job Summary

The Hydrology & Storm Lead Engineer will design and support planning, design, and analysis of advanced stormwater and flood mitigation systems for infrastructure and master planning projects in the Middle East, focusing on Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic studies for flood risk assessment and stormwater management.
• Design stormwater drainage structures such as culverts, bridges, channels, swales, ponds, and networks.
• Support planning and implementation of sustainable drainage systems, erosion protection, and flood control solutions.
• Perform rainfall and runoff analysis using meteorological and morphological data.
• Use industry-standard hydrology and modeling tools to create innovative design solutions.
• Review and ensure quality and timely delivery of design packages from pre-concept to IFC stages.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate drainage systems into broader infrastructure designs.

Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• 12+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficiency in PC software packages commonly used in hydrology and storm drainage design.

Nice to haves

• Experience in major flood mitigation and stormwater management projects for roads and master plans, especially in KSA and the Middle East.
• Strong technical knowledge in hydrology, hydraulic modeling, and drainage infrastructure design.
• Proficiency with software tools including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, WMS, HYFRAN+, InfoWorks ICM, Civil 3D, Bentley Suite, ArcGIS Pro, Global Mapper, and MS Office.
• Knowledge of sustainability criteria for drainage systems (SuDS).
