Job Summary

Join the Production Engineering team at Goldman Sachs to provide business and technical support for the equity electronic trading stack. You will serve as a frontline support engineer managing production systems that process billions of dollars in trades daily, working directly with the trading desk to ensure system availability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct trading desk-facing business and technical support for equity electronic trading systems
• Own and manage the production environment for Algorithmic, Smart Routing, Order Management and MTF systems
• Serve as level one support for production issues and incidents
• Monitor plant health through system monitoring, alerting provisioning and capacity management
• Automate repetitive maintenance and troubleshooting tasks to improve efficiency
• Document production changes and drive improvements to the change management process
• Conduct incident follow-ups and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement
• Coordinate and run emergency drills to ensure team readiness

Requirements

• Experience running a production plant in financial markets
• Understanding of order management and downstream processes
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a demanding user base
• Strong desire and ability to understand the business
• Ability to triage and prioritize incoming requests
• Hands-on experience working in large-scale Unix/Linux environments
• Experience using and maintaining application monitoring, performance and capacity management tools in large-scale systems
• Good experience writing SQL queries
• Scripting ability in Python, Bash or similar language
• Desired: experience in equities cash markets and trading systems, or writing C++, Python, Java or Javascript
