Job Summary

The Data Engineer will design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and integration workflows using Informatica and ETL/ELT techniques. The role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure efficient and reliable data delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines with Informatica to extract and load data from multiple sources.
• Apply complex business logic, perform data transformations, and enforce data quality checks following scalable data modeling standards.
• Optimize SQL queries, database indexes, and Informatica workflows to ensure high performance with large datasets.
• Monitor batch and real-time data processing jobs, troubleshoot failures, resolve data issues, and improve resource utilization.
• Document data lineage, technical specifications, data dictionaries, and source-to-target mappings.
• Collaborate with platform administrators for deployment and infrastructure improvements, and work with business analysts to convert business needs into technical solutions.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter or IICS, including mapping design, workflow development, session tuning, and parameter file management.
• In-depth knowledge of ETL and ELT architectures, incremental loading, Change Data Capture, and handling slow-changing dimensions (Types 1, 2, and 3).
• Expert SQL skills for data extraction, manipulation, and query optimization on relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, or Teradata.
• Experience designing data models, target schemas, and data marts for relational and analytical data warehouses.
• Proficiency in Bash or Python scripting for data processing, job orchestration, and automation.
• Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data formats including JSON, Parquet, CSV, XML, and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with enterprise schedulers like Automic, Control-M, Airflow, and version control tools such as Git.
• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or data integration.
• Experience translating complex business rules into reliable production data pipelines.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Nice to haves

• Informatica certifications such as Informatica Certified Professional in PowerCenter or IICS.
• Experience with cloud data platforms including Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or AWS Redshift.
• Familiarity with streaming or real-time data pipelines like Kafka or Spark Streaming.
