Job Summary

The Sr. Specialist, Data Scientist at Hikma Pharmaceuticals in Amman is responsible for developing and deploying machine learning models to support financial forecasting and analytics. The role involves working with large datasets, collaborating with finance and business teams, and ensuring data quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement machine learning models for financial forecasting, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics.
• Handle large datasets from SAP ECC, ERP systems, and external sources, integrating them into Azure Databricks for analysis.
• Partner with finance, accounting, and business teams to identify challenges and provide data-driven solutions.
• Design and improve data pipelines to support ML model training, validation, and deployment.
• Apply techniques such as LLM, NLP, time-series analysis, and deep learning to extract insights from both structured and unstructured data.
• Build interactive dashboards and visualizations to present insights to finance and business stakeholders.
• Maintain data quality, governance, and compliance when managing sensitive financial information.
• Use automation tools like Selenium to optimize data collection and processing workflows.

Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
• 4-7 years of experience in data science and machine learning.
• Proficiency in Python including Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch.
• Experience with Databricks and Azure Databricks for large-scale data processing and ML deployment.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Knowledge of big data frameworks such as PySpark.
• Expertise in ETL/ELT processes and working with structured and unstructured data.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience with LLMs and NLP for data enrichment and automation.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice to haves

• Master’s degree in Data Science or related field.
• Experience working in a Finance department.
