Job Summary

The Manager, Exploration & Mining Artificial Intelligence leads the development and implementation of AI solutions to enhance exploration, mining operations, and safety at Maaden. This role involves collaborating with multiple teams to deliver scalable AI applications that improve resource discovery, planning, productivity, and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a prioritized portfolio of AI use cases aligned with business goals and operational targets.
• Evaluate AI opportunities based on value, feasibility, data readiness, scalability, and adoption needs.
• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of AI and analytics solutions for exploration and mining.
• Partner with various operational teams to address high-value challenges using predictive and prescriptive analytics.
• Coordinate integration of AI solutions with existing geoscience, mine planning, fleet management, and digital systems.
• Ensure AI models are production-ready, scalable, maintainable, explainable, and monitored for ongoing performance and value.
• Drive adoption through user engagement, change management, training, and knowledge transfer.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, setting priorities, standards, and development plans while ensuring governance, safety, and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, Geomatics, Industrial Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Over 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in AI, advanced analytics, geospatial analytics, mining optimization, automation, or digital transformation.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering AI or advanced analytics solutions in exploration, mining, or operational settings.
• Proven track record of progressing AI solutions from use-case definition through deployment and value realization.
• Expertise in machine learning, optimization, computer vision, geospatial analytics, time-series analytics, and related AI technologies.
• Knowledge of exploration, geology, resource modeling, mine planning, drilling and blasting, fleet optimization, material movement, productivity, and mine safety.
• Familiarity with predictive maintenance, equipment health, condition monitoring, and asset reliability.
• Experience with integration of AI into geoscience platforms, mine planning systems, fleet management, operational technology, and digital twins.
• Understanding of MLOps, model monitoring, lifecycle management, production deployment, responsible AI, cybersecurity, data governance, and operational risk.
• Strong skills in business value realization, benefits tracking, performance reporting, team leadership, stakeholder management, change management, and communication.
