Job Summary

The Manager (Urban and Real Estate Economist) at AtkinsRéalis in Riyadh provides economic, demographic, and real estate market analysis to support development advisory, urban planning, master planning, and infrastructure planning projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct economic, demographic, and socio-economic analyses for regional and city strategies, master plans, and development programs.
• Prepare forecasts for population, households, employment, and economic activity at various geographic levels.
• Translate growth forecasts into spatial requirements for multiple real estate uses including residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, industrial, and community developments.
• Analyze relationships among economic activity, population distribution, employment, land use, accessibility, and infrastructure.
• Develop and evaluate alternative growth and development scenarios and their spatial impacts.
• Perform real estate market assessments including demand, supply, pricing, absorption, and competing developments.
• Support infrastructure planning by translating forecasts into infrastructure and service demand assumptions and aligning development delivery with infrastructure investment.
• Lead urban and real estate economics workstreams, prepare technical reports, and present findings to clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Real Estate Economics, Urban Economics, Economic Geography, Regional Science, Urban Planning, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Over 8 years of relevant experience in urban economics, real estate economics, development advisory, or related consulting.
• Ability to translate economic and demographic forecasts into spatial and real estate requirements.
• Experience supporting master plans, development strategies, regional plans, regeneration programs, or major real estate developments.
• Experience in real estate market assessment and demand forecasting across asset classes.
• Strong quantitative, forecasting, and analytical skills with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
• Experience with GIS, statistical analysis, or data visualization tools is desirable.
• Experience in UAE, KSA, or wider GCC is strongly preferred.
• Experience in consultancy, development authority, planning agency, real estate advisory, or government organization is advantageous.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
