Job Summary

The Clinical Applications Specialist at Alcon supports hospitals and clinics in the Middle East by training healthcare professionals and ensuring the safe and effective use of Alcon’s ophthalmology products.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical and clinical training and ongoing support to surgeons and operating room staff on Alcon’s Cataract and Refractive Surgical Device products.
• Provide accurate scientific and technical responses to customer inquiries regarding approved uses of Alcon devices, referring unapproved use questions according to protocol.
• Support implementation of equipment and software upgrades, new installations, and troubleshooting in cooperation with Field Service Engineers.
• Accurately document site visits using standardized tools and report adverse events and device deficiencies to Medical Safety following company procedures.
• Work with Clinical Applications management and Medical Safety on root cause analysis of adverse events and provide physician feedback when requested.
• Respond to unsolicited device-related information requests in line with SOPs and compliance guidelines.
• Participate in medical congresses, fellowships, conferences, exhibits, seminars, and wet-labs; assist with product demonstrations and maintain clinical certifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced education in healthcare-related fields is advantageous.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in clinical or medical device environments.
• Full professional proficiency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal.
• Strong clinical background in ophthalmology with a commitment to continuous learning.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive and positive approach to collaboration and challenges.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally to support training and business needs.
