Job Summary

This role at WSP in Riyadh involves leading hydrogeology projects, providing technical guidance, and managing groundwater assessments and control solutions within the P&B Ground Engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project delivery ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Lead coordination meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure technical quality and oversight.
• Support proposals and business development activities.
• Lead hydrogeological groundwater assessments including evaluation of groundwater rise and infrastructure impacts.
• Interpret and review aquifer test data such as packer, falling/rising head, and pumping tests.
• Develop, calibrate, and review 3D groundwater flow and solute transport models using MODFLOW 6, MT3DMS, FEFLOW, or equivalents.
• Design and review construction dewatering systems and long-term groundwater control solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hydrogeology, Civil Engineering (Water Resources), or related field.
• 6–12 years of experience in hydrogeological engineering, groundwater modelling, dewatering design, and groundwater management.
• Strong leadership, project management, and client-facing skills.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex groundwater projects.
• Experience delivering hydrogeology and groundwater projects in KSA or the Middle East, especially for infrastructure, buildings, or large developments.
• Knowledge of groundwater investigation, aquifer testing, numerical groundwater modelling, dewatering systems, groundwater control, and geotechnical interfaces.
• Experience working with clients, contractors, authorities, and multidisciplinary teams in KSA, providing technical leadership from assessment to construction support.
• Experience with MODFLOW 6 (GMS and Python-based modelling), MT3DMS, FEFLOW, ArcGIS, QGIS, and Python/FloPy.
• Mining hydrogeology experience including open-pit and underground operations is highly desirable.
• Ability to conduct hydrogeological assessments for mineral extraction projects and advise on mine water management and closure planning.
