Business Intelligence Analyst

Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Analyst role involves designing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines, maintaining data warehouses, and creating dashboards to convert raw data into actionable business insights. The position requires expertise in SQL, BigQuery, event tracking, and data storytelling to support executive decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and improve ETL/ELT workflows to integrate data from various sources including product events, transactional databases, and SaaS tools.
• Design and maintain data schemas in relational databases such as PostgreSQL and cloud data warehouses like Google BigQuery.
• Implement data quality standards, testing, and automated monitoring to ensure data accuracy and performance.
• Define and oversee event tracking specifications for web and mobile platforms using tools like Google Analytics 4, Mixpanel, or Amplitude.
• Analyze user behavior including customer journeys, funnels, feature adoption, retention cohorts, and conversion metrics to identify growth opportunities.
• Create and maintain executive dashboards and operational reports using Looker Studio or Power BI.
• Enable cross-functional teams with self-service reporting tools and documentation.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Data Engineering roles.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and querying relational and enterprise data warehouses (PostgreSQL, Google BigQuery).
• Experience designing ETL workflows and aggregation models using tools like dbt, Airflow, or native scheduling.
• Expertise in event instrumentation and tracking, including handling JSON and nested data in BigQuery.
• Proven ability to build automated dashboards and reports tailored to business needs using Looker Studio or similar tools.
• Strong skills in data storytelling and communicating insights to executives.
• Experience with Marketplace platforms or SaaS business metrics such as ARR/MRR, CAC, LTV, churn, and retention cohorts.
• Proficiency in Python or R for advanced data manipulation and statistical analysis.
• Knowledge of data governance, GDPR/HIPAA compliance, user privacy, and data access controls in cloud environments.
