Job Summary

The Head of Project Execution leads the engineering and project management for Yellow Door Energy’s commercial and industrial portfolio across Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, and Qatar. This senior leadership role oversees projects from pre-construction design through commissioning and handover, ensuring technical robustness, safety, and commercial discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the regional execution team, setting priorities, standards, and accountabilities aligned with group and country goals.
• Build team capabilities through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and recruitment.
• Engage with clients, EPC contractors, consultants, suppliers, and partners to resolve technical and execution issues.
• Collaborate with Development, Commercial, Technical, Procurement, PMO, Finance, Legal, O&M, and QHSSE teams to align execution requirements with project decisions.
• Implement consistent project governance, reporting, lessons learned, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
• Provide technical leadership in pre-construction and detailed engineering, including design reviews and site suitability.
• Lead or oversee technical negotiations ensuring requirements are reflected in tender packages and agreements.
• Oversee grid connection and compliance with LV, MV, HV systems and relevant standards including SEC, SERA, and SASO.
• Guide major equipment specification and selection for PV modules, inverters, BESS, transformers, and related systems.
• Ensure robust energy yield and performance assessments including P50/P90 analysis.
• Oversee project delivery against approved scope, budget, and schedule, addressing risks early.
• Manage contractor and supplier performance including coordination, progress, issue resolution, and change management.
• Ensure QA/QC across testing, inspections, commissioning, and warranty activities.
• Ensure complete as-built documentation and handover to Operations & Maintenance.
• Promote strong QHSSE performance and safety leadership throughout execution activities.

Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in solar PV, renewable energy, or power infrastructure, including 5+ years in senior management or leadership roles.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering and project delivery teams through development, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Extensive experience in EPC contracting, negotiation, contractor management, technical due diligence, and delivery governance.
• Deep technical knowledge of solar PV, BESS, grid connection, and LV/MV/HV electrical infrastructure including protection and equipment selection.
• Strong understanding of GCC grid and regulatory requirements, including local utilities and Grid Codes.
• Commercial and contractual judgment to resolve complex technical and delivery issues.
• Experience working in multinational matrix environments with multiple stakeholders.

Nice to haves

• Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
• Hands-on experience with PVsyst and design/simulation tools such as SolarGIS, AutoCAD, SketchUp, PVcase, or HOMER.
• Experience with C&I, hybrid, and/or utility-scale renewable energy projects.
• Exposure to M&A, project acquisition, or technical due diligence.
