DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

The Junior DevOps Engineer at Apps Wave Information Technology in Jordan will support cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and application deployment while gaining practical experience on real projects.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
• Assist with application deployments in development, testing, and production environments.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized applications.
• Support Git-based source code management using Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab.
• Help troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, and connectivity issues.
• Monitor application and infrastructure performance and review system logs.
• Support automation efforts and operational improvements.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable deployments.

Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic understanding of DevOps and CI/CD concepts.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
• Basic knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes including Pods, Deployments, Services, and Namespaces.
• Good understanding of Git workflows including branches, commits, pull requests, and merges.

Nice to haves

• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification or equivalent knowledge.
• Familiarity with Terraform or Ansible.
• Basic knowledge of databases and SQL.
• Understanding of DevOps security practices and Agile methodologies.
