Senior Dry Utilities Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Dry Utilities Engineer will join Mott MacDonald’s Land Development team in Saudi Arabia, focusing on the design and delivery of power, telecommunications, and street lighting infrastructure for major projects across the Kingdom.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and calculations compliant with utility authority standards.
• Prepare electrical load calculations, load schedules, LV schedules, voltage drop, and cable de-rating calculations.
• Design HV, MV, and LV networks including single line diagrams and layouts.
• Design telecommunication infrastructure networks with knowledge of GSM coverage and prepare related layouts and coverage drawings.
• Design street lighting networks including single line diagrams, layouts, voltage drop calculations, and lighting for tunnels/underpasses.
• Perform lux calculations using DiaLux software for street lighting.
• Inspect site works to ensure quality and compliance with design drawings.
• Review drawings, reports, specifications, and materials at each design and construction stage for completeness and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• Professional qualification with an internationally recognised Engineering Institution.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in design-related projects.
• Experience with analytical/design software such as Dialux, ETAP, Amtech.
• Knowledge of district cooling requirements and load demand calculations.
• Experience planning and monitoring project programmes, costs, and resources to ensure delivery on time and budget.
• Excellent knowledge of international codes and local Saudi regulations.
• Experience with ProjectWise, Infraworks, Navisworks, Openutilities is preferred.
• Ability to communicate professionally in English with all levels of staff and clients.
• Willingness to travel for short-term assignments is preferred.
