Site Engineer, Jordan

Job Summary

The Site Engineer will support the Technical Specialist Engineer and project team during the Aqaba-Amman Water Desalination and Conveyance Project implementation by coordinating utility interfaces, stakeholder engagement, permitting, right-of-way, and government relations to address constraints and maintain project progress.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and document technical, permitting, utility, land, and stakeholder interface issues affecting project implementation.
• Support planning and conducting site visits and coordinate land allocation, right-of-way, access, and expropriation matters.
• Review and monitor utility submissions, permitting requirements, approvals, and stakeholder commitments.
• Assist in identifying and resolving utility clashes, relocations, diversions, and protection needs.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings, workshops, and site visits, maintaining records of discussions and action items.
• Review engineering drawings and technical documents to identify utility conflicts and third-party interface requirements.
• Maintain tracking systems for permits, approvals, utility interfaces, stakeholder actions, and project commitments.
• Prepare technical correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, and presentations in English and Arabic.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in infrastructure, water, utility, transportation, or large-scale development projects.
• Experience in utility coordination, stakeholder engagement, permitting, and government liaison.
• Strong organizational skills for maintaining registers, monitoring deadlines, and follow-up.
• Experience working with municipalities, utility providers, regulatory authorities, and contractors.
• Proficient in English and Arabic (speaking, reading, writing).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS.
• Licensed Engineer through the Jordan Engineers Association.
• Jordanian citizen legally eligible to work in Jordan.
