Lead Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

The Lead Electrical Engineer manages electrical subcontractors and construction packages for power projects, ensuring all electrical works are planned, coordinated, executed, tested, and completed according to project requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical subcontractors and I&C from mobilization to project close-out.
• Supervise subcontracted electrical works including HV/MV/LV systems, transformers, switchgear, cable installation, cable trays, grounding, lighting, electrical equipment installation, DCS, low current systems, and instrumentation.
• Review subcontractor execution plans, manpower, equipment, schedules, and construction methods.
• Monitor progress and productivity against approved schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, Planning, QA/QC, HSE, Contracts, Commercial, Procurement, and Commissioning teams.
• Ensure subcontractors follow approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project procedures.
• Identify construction constraints, interface issues, delays, and performance concerns and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support testing, energization, punch-list clearance, system turnover, and handover to commissioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10–12 years of relevant experience, preferably in EPC construction projects.
• Experience at Manager, Construction Manager, Subcontract Manager, or equivalent level.
• Experience in power plant/CCGT, substation, transmission, or major industrial power projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction and installation activities, especially HV/MV/LV/I&C systems.
• Experience managing electrical subcontractors on large-scale projects.
• Understanding of construction contracts, progress measurement, variations, claims, and subcontract administration.
• Strong leadership, coordination, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of English.
