Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founding Partner

Job Summary

Lead the technology operations of Gojo Systems, the technology arm of Checkers Inc., as a co-founding partner. You will own the technical strategy, build and architect client solutions, and grow the engineering team while earning equity and revenue share rather than a salary.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical side of the business end to end, including architecting and building client solutions
• Choose the technology stack and engineering standards, and decide how solutions are shipped
• Scope and price technical work with the commercial team and engage directly with clients on technical matters
• Work closely with the CIO on both internal systems and client projects in a partnership model
• Build and lead the development team as Gojo Systems grows, including hiring, training, and setting engineering culture
• Design solutions from vague client briefs and manage the transition from concept to production

Requirements

• At least five years of professional full stack development experience with real production systems
• Hands-on proficiency across PHP, JavaScript, React, Flutter, MySQL, HTML and CSS
• Experience with AWS and cPanel for deployment and server management
• Proven track record shipping SaaS or cloud-based products to live users
• Ability to design solutions from vague client briefs rather than waiting for detailed specifications
• Arabic and English working ability is a strong advantage given the client base
• Temperament suited to founding, including comfort with deferred compensation and building before getting paid
• Preference for collaborative partnership over solo work and independent code delivery

• 25% equity in Gojo Systems, vesting at 5% per year over five years
• 10% direct revenue share of every deal you bring in
• 5% indirect revenue share of every deal brought in by other team members
• Revenue share paid as cash from the first invoice, not contingent on exit
• Path to formalize Gojo Systems as an independent subsidiary by end of 2027 at the latest, with equity converting to registered shares on incorporation
