Junior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Develop, maintain, and support reliable backend applications and services that enable business capabilities and digital products in accordance with established engineering and security standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs in Java and Spring Boot within a microservices architecture
• Translate functional and technical requirements into working, tested software
• Integrate services with databases, internal platforms, and external partner systems
• Work with event streaming and messaging technologies such as Kafka and MQ under guidance
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code in line with engineering standards
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and defect resolution
• Support deployment and monitoring on containerized platforms through established CI/CD pipelines
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and squad ceremonies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 2 years of backend development experience
• Working knowledge of Java and Spring Boot
• Working knowledge of REST APIs
• Working knowledge of SQL and Git
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Understanding of debugging fundamentals
• Apply secure coding practices, including authentication, authorization, and data protection requirements
• Support production troubleshooting under the guidance of senior engineers
• Maintain relevant technical documentation
