Team Lead, Network & Voice

Job Summary

The Team Lead, Network & Voice is a developing management role responsible for guiding a team of network engineers and specialists to design, implement, and maintain robust and efficient network infrastructure. This position combines technical expertise with managerial and project management skills to deliver high-quality network solutions aligned with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Foster a positive team culture, encourage professional growth, and promote collaboration among team members.
• Collaborate with the team to design and architect network solutions including LAN, WAN, data centre, and cloud networks that align with business requirements and industry best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight during design, configuration, and implementation of network solutions, including review and approval of network designs.
• Oversee deployment, configuration, and maintenance of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
• Lead network-related projects by establishing project plans, allocating resources, and ensuring completion on time and within scope.
• Optimise network performance by analysing traffic patterns, implementing QoS measures, and making configuration adjustments.
• Establish and enforce technical standards, best practices, and governance processes while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and security policies.
• Manage relationships with network equipment vendors, service providers, and technology partners, including evaluating offerings and negotiating contracts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Solid expertise in networking concepts, protocols, architectures, and services.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing complex network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
• Knowledge of advanced network protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and security protocols.
• Solid experience in network engineering including progressive roles in design, implementation, and leadership.
• Solid experience with network security, WAN and LAN, and wireless equipment, protocols, standards, and wireless LAN design.
• Relevant experience leading and managing a networking or similar engineering team.
• Good documentation and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Project management, resource allocation, and budget management abilities.
• Problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex network issues and developing people management capabilities with a focus on collaboration and innovation.
• Network Administration certification (Azure, Google, Amazon) preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE) are beneficial or preferred.
• Solid familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.) and network automation concepts is a plus.
