Radar – ATCALS & C2

Job Summary

Install, sustain, troubleshoot, and repair ground radar and airfield systems including air traffic control radars, ground aircraft control and warning radar systems, air traffic control radios, and meteorological and navigational aid systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, sustain, troubleshoot, and repair standard ground radar and airfield systems and equipment platforms
• Resolve installation, repair, and modification problems associated with ATCALS and C2 equipment using line-of-sight and tropospheric scatter techniques
• Conduct tests to restore and maintain systems using layout drawings, schematics, and pictorial diagrams
• Analyze construction and operating characteristics of equipment to determine source of malfunction
• Perform intricate alignment and calibration procedures to ensure maximum operating efficiency
• Review and ensure compliance with maintenance management publications and procedures
• Enforce safety standards for system maintenance activities and check installed and repaired components for compliance with technical publications
• Maintain inspection and maintenance records, record meter readings and pertinent data in equipment logs, and complete maintenance data collection forms

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED; relevant Associate’s degree preferred
• Formal electronics training such as military technical training school, vocational college, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program with experience in electronics equipment the technician will maintain
• Level I tech: four (4) years of recent, relevant, and practical experience with equipment the technician will maintain and oversee
• Four (4) years experience working with or on electronic systems
• IAT Level II baseline certification IAW AFMAN 17-1303 for maintaining COMSEC/IP networking equipment
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US CENTCOM Medical Exam
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance
• Experience maintaining systems including DME, ILS, MMLS, MPN-23, UPS, RCSU-2238, TACAN, TRN-44, VOR, RSI/RCI, FMQ-19, FMQ-23, Micro-EARTS, MSCT, NRTD, STARS, STRAP, TDX-2000, MARK IVB, NEXION, TAS, GPN-27, MPN-25, TPS-75, UPX-27, UPX-37, UPX-44A, CM-200, CM-300, GRC-171, GRC-211, GRR-23/24, PCAS, GRT-21/22, ETVS, Liberty Star, PL-2000DT, PRC-117, RT-1319, TRC-214, TRC-176, URC-200, ATIS, DVRS, TTRS or equivalent monitoring equipment
