Lead Structural Engineer

Job Summary

Lead Structural Engineer at KEO Group in Amman, responsible for advanced structural design review and technical assessment of complex building systems, including steel structures, concrete buildings, and façade systems, ensuring compliance with international standards.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced steel structural systems including long-span structures, special connections, composite systems, steel-truss systems, and atypical configurations
• Conduct independent technical assessments for concrete and steel structural buildings with self-calculations and signed certificates confirming design safety and compliance
• Assess soil–structure interaction assumptions, settlement predictions, lateral soil pressure considerations, and compatibility between structural and geotechnical design inputs
• Review and assess façade structural systems including unitized/stick systems, steel-supported façades, tension structures, and cladding support frames
• Ensure design compliance with international standards including SBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI, BS/Eurocodes, IBC, and ASTM
• Prepare detailed design review reports, correspondence, and technical memoranda
• Provide technical support to clients during tendering, construction, and value engineering assessments

Requirements

• Minimum 20 years of career mixed experience in design and design review for buildings covering both concrete and steel building design
• Bachelor or Masters degree qualification (Masters preferred)
• Minimum 15 years previous experience in a consultancy environment
• Senior appointment within the last 7 years viewed favorably
• Chartered Engineer (CEng – UK) and/or Professional Engineer (PE – USA) required
