BO Transmission Engineer

Job Summary

The BO Transmission Engineer will support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of transmission and IP network infrastructure, ensuring network performance and service availability through second-line technical support and collaboration with various teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct second-line troubleshooting for IP and transmission networks including routers, switches, MPLS, and transmission nodes.
• Handle incident, problem, and configuration management to sustain network stability and performance.
• Investigate transmission outages and service degradations.
• Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade network devices and services.
• Perform node acceptance, audits, and network health checks.
• Collaborate with field, access, operations, and third-party teams to resolve complex network issues.
• Manage escalations with third-line support as needed.
• Review and verify transmission-related network changes and participate in technical investigations and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

• 1 to 4 years of experience in transmission network operations, support, or troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of IP networking concepts and protocols.
• Experience with Cisco routers and switches.
• Experience troubleshooting transmission technologies and network nodes.
• Hands-on experience with Ericsson transmission solutions such as Mini-Link TN, Mini-Link 6600, Mini-Link 6352, R6000, and SIU/TCU is an advantage.
• Understanding of configuration, incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Experience using network management and monitoring tools.
• Telecom industry experience is preferred.
• Basic scripting or automation experience is a plus.
• Cisco and/or Ericsson networking certifications are preferred.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform under pressure.
• Attention to detail, accountability, and customer focus.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, shift rotations, and on-call support.
• Collaborative attitude with a passion for continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
