Transport Network Operations Engineer

Job Summary

Orange Jordan seeks a Transport Network Operations Engineer to manage and operate optical layer transport systems, including OTN, ROADM, and SONET/SDH technologies. The role involves technical design, planning, and 24/7 on-call support for transport network operations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical knowledge of optical layer transport systems, OTN, ROADM, SONET/SDH, cross-connect switching, signal grooming, and ring and mesh network topologies
• Design and plan SDH, DWDM, and OTN systems at high and low levels
• Handle client calls independently and provide on-call support around the clock
• Conduct acceptance and throughput tests according to standard procedures
• Document and maintain transport network details up to date
• Perform emergency work remotely and attend the office as needed
• Understand complex transport system hardware and software architectures
• Apply planning knowledge in PDH, SDH, and DWDM systems and transmission network products

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Telecommunication Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in SDH/DWDM technologies and optical communications systems
• Proficiency in SDH/SONET digital hierarchy from fractional T1/E1 to 10G circuit level
• Basic knowledge of network tuning process and technical skills
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite with strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of IP networks
• Knowledge of various telecommunication equipment
• Ability to operate independently without direct supervision
• High motivation and willingness to work flexible hours
