Job Summary
The Engineer will lead contract administration and provide professional leadership for the Master Development Unit Projects portfolio under FIDIC contract conditions. This role ensures project delivery meets contractual, technical, quality, schedule, cost, and performance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Engineer following applicable FIDIC contract conditions and Client directives.
- Administer FIDIC contracts including Red, Yellow, and Silver Books with project-specific amendments.
- Provide impartial contract administration throughout design and construction phases.
- Monitor and manage Employer’s and Contractor’s contractual obligations.
- Review and issue contractual notices, instructions, certifications, and communications.
- Coordinate approval of Contractor submissions such as designs, methodologies, and work plans.
- Assess Contractor performance against contractual, technical, quality, safety, environmental, schedule, and cost criteria.
- Lead contract risk management, claims assessment, payment certification, and project close-out activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, or related field.
- 15 years of progressive experience in administration and delivery of major construction, infrastructure, or mixed-use projects.
- Extensive experience as Engineer, Project Manager, Resident Engineer, PMC or Delivery Partner representative, or senior consultant.
- Strong knowledge and experience administering FIDIC-based contracts, including Red, Yellow, and Silver Books.
- Proven skills in contract administration, variations, claims, extensions of time, delay analysis, disruption, and payment certification.
- Ability to make fair, reasoned, and contractually compliant assessments and determinations.
- Understanding of design management, construction supervision, quality assurance, and project delivery processes.
- Familiarity with project controls including programme, cost, risk, change, and performance management.
- Experience reviewing and coordinating technical submissions and project documentation.
- Strong negotiation, communication, report-writing, and stakeholder management skills.
