Technology Specialist

Job Summary

The Technology Specialist is responsible for designing, monitoring, and improving enterprise Java applications using App dynamics and Loadrunner to ensure system reliability and performance. The role involves proactive performance management and collaboration with engineering and operations teams in an office-based day shift setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java application components that comply with enterprise architecture and support scalable solutions.
• Set up and manage App dynamics monitoring to track performance indicators and application health.
• Analyze App dynamics data to detect bottlenecks and recommend optimization strategies.
• Create and run Loadrunner performance test scripts to assess application behavior under different workloads.
• Work with development and operations teams to resolve complex performance issues promptly.
• Document performance baselines and develop runbooks for standard procedures and tuning.
• Coordinate with quality engineering to integrate performance testing into the software delivery process.
• Review Java application code focusing on performance best practices and provide feedback to reduce technical debt.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience configuring App dynamics, creating dashboards, and tuning alerts for multi-tier Java applications.
• Advanced knowledge of Java including memory management, threading, and optimization techniques.
• Experience using Loadrunner to design performance scenarios, analyze results, and recommend tuning.
• Understanding of relational databases and query optimization to interpret performance data and collaborate with database specialists.
• Experience with modern build and deployment pipelines integrating performance checks into continuous delivery.
• Ability to work in a structured office environment during day shifts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and documentation skills to explain performance findings clearly to stakeholders.
• Preferred certifications include AppDynamics Certified Performance Analyst and Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer or equivalent.
