Technical Head – Track Systems

Job Summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Technical Head for Track Systems to provide strategic and technical leadership across Middle East railway programs. This senior role delivers high-quality consultancy services in track systems and operational asset management while driving innovation and business growth.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical authority and subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance to clients and internal teams on track systems solutions.
• Lead and oversee track alignment assignments and delivery of major multidisciplinary rail projects.
• Manage critical railway system interfaces including rail-wheel interfaces, stations, and complex infrastructure junctions.
• Lead bids, tenders, and procurement activities with both technical and commercial leadership.
• Ensure delivery excellence across scope, schedule, cost, quality, and compliance with assurance and certification requirements.
• Drive development and optimization of railway operational concepts and system interfaces.
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams and technical specialists.
• Identify growth opportunities and build relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

Must haves

• Degree-qualified in Engineering or related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in track systems across high-speed, conventional, freight and metro railways.
• Strong expertise in track systems architecture and integration.
• Demonstrated leadership of complex, multidisciplinary rail projects.
• Chartered Engineer with membership of a relevant professional institution.
• Experience in design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and operational asset management of track systems.

Nice to haves

• Knowledge of depot management and delivery, operations and maintenance requirements.
• Additional language skills.
• Experience working across international rail projects and markets.
• Experience with both client and contractor organisations.
