Job Summary
The Commissioning Specialist performs testing, validation, and commissioning activities on customer sites for substation automation systems (SAS). The role includes site mobilization, technical commissioning work, and management activities, with accountability for work quality and direct operations supervision.
Responsibilities
- Conduct testing and validation of equipment, facilities, and plants according to design objectives and specifications for operational use
- Perform all activities related to SAS commissioning on customer sites, including site mobilization and commissioning work
- Manage maintenance activities including preventive and remedial services on customer properties
- Resolve technical issues using established procedures and consult supervisors for issues outside defined parameters
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, serving as the interface between customer and GE
- Exchange technical information with customers, ask clarifying questions, and verify understanding
- Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to solve issues
- Manage site activity schedules and deliver commissioning work on time
Must haves
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields
- Minimum 1 year of experience in DCS/SAS systems
- Technical background in DCS/SAS systems with PC, DSagile, and Aview software skills
- Experience with SCADA systems and 3rd party IED integration with Protection and Control systems
- Knowledge of IEC61850, Modbus, IEC101, IEC104, and IEC103 protocols
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills in English and legal right to work in KSA without company sponsorship
Nice to haves
- Knowledge of Protection Relays and Monitoring and Diagnostic Devices (M&D)
- Arabic language proficiency
- Prior experience working in KSA
- Genuine commitment to EHS culture and I&D agenda
