Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer, (Forward Deployed), GPS

Job Summary

This role involves collaborating with public sector partners to develop full-stack AI applications that address significant challenges and improve citizen services. The engineer leads technical strategy, architecture, and implementation of scalable AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical strategy for public sector projects, translating unclear mission needs into detailed architectural plans and overseeing onsite execution.
• Design core frameworks for production-level AI applications integrating interactive user interfaces, backend systems, and AI models at scale.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure development to ensure security, scalability, and system integrity globally.
• Manage development of core platforms and shared services to meet diverse client requirements worldwide.
• Collaborate with leadership to guide the technical roadmap, mentor staff, and maintain a unified, future-ready architecture.
• Convert practical client insights into reusable engineering patterns to support the broader engineering team.

Must haves

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience in designing complex distributed systems.
• Over 10 years of full-stack experience with Python, Node.js, and React, including designing scalable architectures on Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Expertise in creating and managing production-grade systems with high standards for security, integrity, and scalability.
• Extensive experience deploying and troubleshooting complex solutions in secure client environments.
• Proven ability to build LLM-driven solutions and architect systems anticipating future changes.
• Self-motivated leader skilled in handling ambiguity, mentoring senior staff, and setting technical vision.
• Advocate for asynchronous workflows and documentation-first culture to enhance global engineering efficiency.

Nice to haves

• Previous roles as CTO, founding engineer, forward deployed engineer, or dedicated customer engineer in startups.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with operations teams.
• Proficiency in Arabic.
