Job Summary
The Sr. Software Development Manager leads a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining payment products and technologies at Amazon Payment Services. The role involves managing engineering teams, driving technical excellence, and delivering scalable solutions for customers in the MENA region.
Responsibilities
- Promote technical excellence and provide thought leadership across teams.
- Manage engineering teams to plan, design, and deliver complex software systems.
- Mentor and develop engineering managers and engineers.
- Collaborate with business leaders to convert functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Implement consistent project management and development processes to deliver high-quality software rapidly across multiple regions.
- Represent the technical organization and communicate progress to senior leadership.
- Lead design reviews and provide guidance on architecture, system integration, performance, and scalability.
- Anticipate and manage project bottlenecks, escalations, and trade-offs between business needs and technical constraints.
Must haves
- 10+ years of engineering experience.
- 5+ years managing engineering teams.
- 10+ years of experience in planning, designing, developing, and delivering consumer software.
- Experience working with product or program management teams.
Nice to haves
- Experience designing and developing large-scale, high-traffic applications.
