Sr. Network Engineering/Area Manager

Job Summary

Senior Network Engineer/Area Manager responsible for managing complex LAN/WAN communications infrastructure, overseeing network projects, installation of new devices, and ongoing maintenance. The role includes providing technical support for network troubleshooting and coordinating personnel and support schedules across an assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Manage local and wide area networks, including project planning and installation of new network devices and systems
• Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve network outages
• Administer multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems
• Submit accurate and timely updates for assigned projects, project completion updates, and system tests
• Directly manage personnel and plan support schedules within assigned area
• Coordinate all support-related travel to support customer missions
• Travel OCONUS to support mission 30% or more

Must haves

• Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret Clearance
• US Citizenship required
• Minimum 12 years of in-depth knowledge of complex LAN/WAN communications and network hardware including Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways and firewalls
• In-depth knowledge of routing protocols: RIP, EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF
• Strong understanding and practical experience with MPLS, VPLS, MLA VPNs and Traffic Engineering
• Meet applicable DoD 8140 qualification requirements for Network Operations Specialist role at Intermediate proficiency level

Nice to haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
• 10-15 years of military support experience in a related field with advanced commercial certification
• Certifications such as Security+, CEH, Cloud+, GCIH, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, or other DoD 8140-approved certifications
