Software Engineer

Job Summary

MinIO is seeking a Software Engineer to own end-to-end problems in building the complete data stack for AI, including exascale object store, table store, agent memory, and related systems. You will work with full autonomy from day one with no permission required, alongside a team of architects and individual contributors.

Responsibilities

• Own problems end-to-end with full responsibility and no ticket queues or standups
• Debug and solve complex issues that others cannot reproduce
• Read and understand source code deeply to identify and fix problems
• Contribute to systems spanning Operating Systems, Networking, Systems Programming, Distributed Systems, Storage Engines, Vector/Graph Retrieval, Low-Latency I/O, and Protocol Design
• Make decisions about the work you are doing without requiring permission
• Write code that other engineers respect and can build upon

Requirements

• Deep understanding of OS internals and networking from the socket layer up
• Fluent in 2 or more programming languages with honest understanding of their tradeoffs
• Strong opinions on memory, concurrency, and correctness with willingness to revise them
• Experience debugging complex problems that are difficult to reproduce
• Demonstrated ability to understand systems by reading source code
• Grit to start and finish hard problems
• Genuine curiosity and ability to debug by understanding rather than guessing
• Low ego combined with extremely high standards
• Experience or strong knowledge in Operating Systems, Networking, Systems Programming, Distributed Systems, Storage Engines, Vector/Graph Retrieval, Low-Latency I/O, or Protocol Design
