Job Summary
Design and build distributed computing solutions at scale for Amazon Payment Services. You will drive technical direction, own major deliverables end-to-end, and provide technical leadership to the engineering team on cloud computing and highly scalable systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategy and roadmap with product managers to deliver capabilities for customers
- Collaborate with engineers to determine optimal technical design and approach for new product development
- Establish best practices for software development and documentation, ensuring designs meet requirements and high-quality delivery on tight schedules
- Manage project prioritization, planning, and stakeholder management with tracking of external commitments
- Monitor and operate production services for operational excellence
- Own the overall development life cycle of solutions and manage complex projects with significant business impact
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability and scaling
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Strong distributed systems and web services design and implementation experience
- Experience working on high availability production systems
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
