Senior Structural Engineer – Data Centre

Job Summary

The Senior Structural Engineer at Jacobs will lead structural engineering and construction supervision for Hyperscale Data Center and Mission-Critical Infrastructure projects in the Middle East. The role involves ensuring structural works comply with specifications, standards, and regulations while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise structural construction activities to ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and codes.
• Review contractor submissions including shop drawings, method statements, and inspection plans.
• Monitor contractor performance to meet project schedules, quality, and contractual requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve construction and quality issues promptly.
• Evaluate technical queries, RFIs, and contractor proposals.
• Review structural designs, calculations, and temporary works for compliance and constructability.
• Provide technical leadership for structural systems in hyperscale data centers and mission-critical facilities.
• Coordinate with various engineering and project teams to ensure integration and successful project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• 12-15 years of experience in structural engineering, design review, and construction supervision.
• 3-5 years of direct experience with Hyperscale Data Centers, Tier III/IV Data Centers, or Mission-Critical Facilities.
• Experience supervising reinforced concrete and structural steel structures including data halls and utility plants.
• Proven expertise in managing complex foundation systems such as piled and raft foundations.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams during construction and commissioning.
• Familiarity with structural inspections, technical reviews, contractor compliance, and quality assurance.
• Experience working under FIDIC contracts and international project delivery frameworks.
