Senior Specialist – Data Engineering

Job Summary

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will transform raw data into useful data systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data availability, reliability, and accessibility for analytics and decision-making. You will design scalable data pipelines and align data systems with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and Apache Airflow
• Deploy data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform products including DataFlow, DataProc, Data Fusion, and Cloud Composer
• Build distributed systems and data stores
• Implement and optimize data storage solutions including data warehouses, data lakes, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Cassandra
• Design and implement efficient data models using dimensional modeling techniques in collaboration with data architects
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and custom scripts to ensure data accuracy and reliability
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues to minimize business disruption
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement of data platforms

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field
• Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
• Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and data integration techniques
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Familiarity with services such as AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, and Google BigQuery
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration

• Google Cloud Platform experience
• Solid knowledge of Google BigQuery
• Data engineering cloud certification such as Google Certified Data Engineer
